After graduating from Boğaziçi University's Faculty of Business Administration, he completed his PhD in Finance at Marmara University. He began his career in the audit department at PWC and later moved to Roche. At Roche, he held senior positions in Switzerland, Australia, and the Asia Pacific region, managing numerous international projects. Subsequently, he worked in international companies in Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, and the USA, holding senior positions as CFO at Boston Scientific, Exel Logistics/DHL, Borusan Automotive, Dixons Retail Electroworld, Teleperformance, Bayraktar Holding (VP), Television New Zealand, Flagstone Property Group, and Yupana Inc. (USA). Alongside his professional life, Dr. Gökhan Sungun has lectured at various universities and institutions, having taught finance and audit courses at Auckland University of Technology and currently teaching finance courses at Westcliff University, USA.

After graduating from Kabataş High School for Boys, he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Business Administration. He started his professional life in the PWC Audit department and later moved to Arçelik's Finance department. In the Finance department, he was involved in the first IFC syndicated loan obtained in Turkey for investments, and then moved to Arçelik's International Marketing and Sales department, where he worked for twenty-three years in Strategic Planning, MIS Management, Business Development and Group Companies Coordination. He played a role in Arçelik's international growth and managed many international projects. He held various positions in two brand acquisitions, the establishment of two greenfield factories, four company acquisitions and six international growth projects. He is a national equestrian and served two terms as General Secretary of the Turkish Equestrian Federation and held various positions in the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).

Uğur graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University with a degree in Economics and completed his MBA at the same university. He began his career at Tekfenbank and, after working in banking at Şekerbank, TEB, and Citibank, continued his career at Citibank Russia. Uğur has won Citibank's prestigious EMEA Deal Award twice. He has provided services to the Russian, Ukrainian, and CIS subsidiaries of Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, participating in and providing opinions on the investment, M&A, and operations of these companies as a bank representative. Most recently, he served as a project manager in the establishment of a global sales network based in London and covering 29 countries within Citi. Uğur, who brought the project to fruition in 1.5 years, also participated in Harvard Business School's Management Excellent program sponsored by Citi and holds an ICF-approved coaching certificate.
